Parking Charges Solicitors

Received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) you believe is unfair? You don’t have to face it alone.

Why Challenge a PCN?

Private parking companies often rely on people paying without question, even when the charges may be unlawful. We have a proven track record of successfully contesting unfair PCNs, ensuring you aren’t charged unjustly.

Isn’t Paying Simpler?

Not always! In many cases, we can work on a no-win, no-fee basis. If we successfully dispute your PCN, we’ll also pursue reimbursement of costs from the parking company where possible.

Why Seek Advice Now?

PCNs must go through multiple stages before they become legally enforceable. Early advice significantly improves your chances of success. Remember: a PCN does not affect your credit score unless it leads to a Default Judgment. Even then, we can help have it removed.

Private Parking Charges

  • Contest unfair PCNs issued by private parking companies.
  • Identify legal flaws in signage, contracts, and enforcement.
  • Prevent private parking companies from unlawfully pursuing charges against you.

Local Authority & Transport for London PCNs

  • Challenge parking fines issued by councils or TFL for alleged contraventions.
  • Assess issues such as unlawful road markings, restricted zones, and procedural errors.
  • Support with Tribunal Appeals if needed.

Bailiff & Court Enforcement

If you have received a Notice of Enforcement or are facing bailiff action, we can act swiftly to apply to set aside the charge.
We aim to stop enforcement action and protect your rights—often within 24 hours of instruction.

Court Claims & County Court Judgments (CCJs)
Can I Be Taken to Court for an Unpaid Parking Charge?
Yes—but it must follow strict procedures under the Civil Procedure Rules. Many parking operators issue claims in bulk, and errors are common. If a claim has been issued against you, we can act fast to review the paperwork and defend your position.

What Should I Do If I Receive a Claim Form from the Court?
Never ignore a Claim Form.
You have 14 days to acknowledge it, and a further 14 to file a defence. If you do nothing, the parking company can request a Default Judgment—which could damage your credit rating and result in enforcement action.

What is a Default Judgment?
A Default Judgment is when the court awards the claim against you because you didn’t respond in time—without a trial.

It’s not the end. We can often help you apply to set it aside, especially if the claim wasn’t properly served or you have a strong defence.

Can a Judgment Be Removed?
Yes. Using Form N244, you can apply to have a Default Judgment set aside. This costs £303 or may be free if you qualify for help with fees (Form EX160). We can manage the entire process—from drafting to court representation.

How Much Will It Cost Me to Defend a Claim?
We assess each case individually. Our pricing is fair, and we always consider the value of the claim vs. your legal costs.
We regularly act on a no-win, no-fee basis where viable.
